Hung Loi Agricultural Cooperative, An Hung hamlet, Long Duc commune was established in July 2017, with 538 members participating, with a rice production area of nearly 610ha, total charter capital of more than 122 million VND. The main activity is rice cultivation. Participating in cooperatives, cooperative members are supported with 30% of rice varieties, plant protection drugs, fertilizers and product consumption. After more than 4 years of operation, the cooperative has come into order and brought many benefits to its members. Up to now, the cooperative has signed more than 10 rice consumption contracts of its members, with prices higher than outside from 500 to 1,000 VND/kg. Mr. Huynh Van Dai, a member of Hung Loi cooperative said: “Since joining the cooperative, we have been regularly trained in rice cultivation procedures, reducing the amount of seed sown, fertilizer and number of times spraying, spraying pesticides, input materials decrease, rice output increases, prices are guaranteed. If farmers outside the cooperative produce a rice crop, after deducting expenses, the profit is about 1 million VND/worker, then the members of the cooperative make a profit of more than 1 million - 2 million VND/ industry, not to mention the price of input agricultural inputs reduced by 15-25% compared to the purchase price from outside”.
Due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, from the beginning of the year until now, although Long Phu district has not developed any new cooperatives or cooperative groups, the district also regularly propagates and strengthens and improves the operational efficiency of 23 cooperatives and 47 cooperative groups. Accordingly, the majority of cooperatives and cooperative groups have entered into order, built a model of linkage and consumption of products according to the value chain, guaranteed agricultural inputs, and met the needs of consumers. production needs of members, stable prices, increasing profits, contributing to the socio-economic development of the home district.
